Shock!

It’s been likened to the hand of God but looks more like a meteorite stopped in its tracks as it hurtles towards earth. Amazing pictures of a cloud hanging over Teixeira de Freitas in south-east Brazil have sent social media into a frenzy.

Many who pictured the weather phenomenon on Thursday evening said they were initially scared it may be the start of a tornado formation. But it was later confirmed to be dust cloud that had been turned red by the sunset.

João Paulo Magalhães who shared footage from a petrol station said: ‘It really looked like the entrance to a meteorite or something. I was scared too, we thought it would form a tornado.’
